Getting the little things done...and a few big things.

So, everything is starting to pile up on me. when I think about all the things I have to do I keep forgetting about the little things like the guest book, ring pillow, jars for candy buffet, little things for my DIY centerpieces, etc. so today we set out on a mission to do centerpieces and invites.

well centerpieces didn't go so well, I HATE the fake flowers I can find around here they look way to fake for my liking but real flowers are not in our budget beyond the bouquets. hmm so I was discouraged, then we found the invites, we had planned on spending around $80-$150 on invites at first then we figured we could try and make them ourselves (just to add to the stress lol). But we lucked out and went in to Michaels a craft store and found the perfect invites and on sale at that! we ended up getting 100 print yourself invited for $38.00. Now they are not the snazziest invites but i love them :) I had checked out Michaels many times before and never found anything I liked so I was super excited today.

We then kept looking around for new centerpiece ideas because we had to scrap the fake flower one I fell in love with and then I saw it and now I am in love all over again. Unfortunately rob doesn't feel the same :( so now I have a mission: Make him LOVE it! he says its to drab so I am going to make up a mock one but scrap the light colors and go for some bright pinks and purples and maybe some lit candles around it?...











So then we set off to the dollar store to see what we could find for the new centerpieces... unfortunately we could not find the large bowls at this particular one but I did find my CANDY BUFFET :D just the jars lol but I was having a hard time finding jars large enough to look the way I want them to and to my surprise the dollar store has a huge new glass section.

In the end we were able to check off the list our guest book (we decided to go with a picture framed and have everyone sign the matting around it), candy buffet jars, invitations, and card box. as well as found all kinds of ideas for the rest of the list. I would have to say today was rather productive for us.
